graphic design | brown flour design from limabacka kvarn

A series of brown kraft paper flour bags, designed to reflect the traditional miller craftsmanship and the passion for organic produce that form the foundation of Limabacka Kvarn.

On the front side of the flour bag is an illustration based on an old photograph of Limabacka Kvarn from 1947.

The product photographs were taken in Sallebacka on the Halland coast, a stone's throw from the mill.

Limabacka Kvarn is built on six generations of miller craftsmanship.

wheat flour

Wheat flour is an organic sifted flour with a pleasantly mild taste. It's perfect for both soft and hard cookies, thickenings, sauces, buns, pies, and pancakes. The grains are grown by our fantastic Swedish organic farmers.

Many of the farmers have been with us from the beginning and have become good friends over the years.

special wheat flour

Special Wheat Flour is our most popular flour, making it easy and fun to bake airy breads with phenomenal volume. What's the secret? Well, the flour is rich in spring wheat and has a higher protein and gluten content. This results in elastic doughs and wonderfully fluffy breads.

Thanks to our dear farmers whose high-quality wheat and organic care make the flour so delightful to bake with!

spelt wheat

Spelt wheat (also called just spelt) is a very old variety of wheat—a so-called heritage variety—that has been cultivated in Europe since the Stone Age.

Our spelt is primarily grown by our good friends Håkan Johansson and sons at Högens Farm in Idala in Halland.

öland wheat

Öland's Lantvete is one of our old heritage varieties with a unique taste and nutritional profile influenced by the local conditions on Öland.

Many of the organic farmers who grow Öland wheat have been with us for a long time and have become good friends over the years.

story

The story on the back of the bag tells of a father and son who return to their family roots and ancestral craft after many years of searching.

The history of Limabacka Kvarn dates back to the mid-19th century when the ancestor Anders built a windmill on Öland—thereby casting the family's fate in flour. For six straight generations, the family has worked as millers.
